Elsewhere, God brought me to realize the other night in speaking with a French friend that I have many fears about the future concerning France and ministry. Probably my greatest fear is that I will lose so much of the language and cultural sensitivity that I have acquired in two years here. Another fear includes being "stuck" Stateside for over three years. I like the States but I love France and to be separated from her would be like being separated from a fiancée or a spouse (not that I know what that's like ? :/ haha). Anyway, I'm not trusting God with my life and dreams... which aren't even mine. They're His ! So please pray concerning this.
One last thing to pray for is my acceptance of who I am as an American. I want to be French in every way possible and try to deny and shed anything American about me like a bad habit. But the fact is is that God made me American for a reason and to deny that part of me is to say that God's best isn't best. Therefore, please pray that I can accept and rejoice in where I come from culturally as part of God's best for me.
Thanks !
Hey bro,
ReplyDeleteI am an American. I am also a Swiss citizen. I love and embrace both cultures. My kids are mixed to the point they (and Tanya) are what's called 3rd culture. So, yes, I am Swiss....and yes, I am American. Even after nearly 6 years of living in Switzerland, the American in me is a blessing and a strong cultural aspect that the Lord uses to impact His Kingdom.....I will never deny it and am proud to be an American...although I value all people and seek insight into understanding their cultures as well. I am also a citizen of planet Earth and a citizen of the Kingdom of God. I am me and you are you......and you are a great man of faith and friend; continue to be YOU! In His grip and grace, Corey
Hey there Seth!
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking of and praying for you yesterday. I took some Mya/Cali video for you, posted at our site....let me know if you can see the video. It's our "care package" to you :) Thanks for serving the LORD in France!
